Overview
Tikkurila Otex Akva is a quick-drying water-based adhesion primer, formulated to adhere well to various demanding surfaces making it a great alternative to solvent-based primers in a lot of cases. Thanks to its water-based formula, Otex Akva is light to brush on, easy to level, and has a mild odour which makes this highly adhesive matt primer a great choice for interior use. It provides excellent adhesion to tough surfaces such as glass, tiles, or fibreglass.

Tinted Colour Information
Tinted paint is custom mixed in house at Next Day Paint using our Tikkurila tinting machine. We mix the paint on site, which means we can offer our usual fast delivery with no extra delay. Tinted Colour Match paints can't be cancelled or returned as they are tinted to order. Note: Depending on the amount of colourant required to mix your chosen colour, there may be up to a 10% variant on the advertised paint volume.| Area | Interior |

Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from dirt and grease.
- Wash the surface with Tikkurila Maalipesu cleaning agent or suitable cleaning solution and rinse carefully with water
- Repair any cracks or holes with an appropriate filler
- Sand down the surface matte
- Remove the sanding dust
Application
Always test a small area of the surface to be painted to ensure you are happy with the finished results
- Stir thoroughly before use to ensure the paint is completely mixed
- Thin with water, if necessary
- Apply Otex Primer by brush, roller, paint pad or sprayer. On large surfaces, it is recommended to first apply the paint with a furniture paint roller, for example, and then level the coat with a brush. It is recommended to use synthetic brushes with multi-branched bristles

Aftercare & Storage
Store the paint in dry conditions and protect from extremes of temperature.
After use firmly secure the lid.
If needed, at the earliest after approx. 1 month from painting: Clean the surface with a neutral (pH 6-8) dishwashing solution and a soft brush, sponge or cleaning cloth. Clean very dirty surfaces with a lightly alkaline (pH 8-10) dishwashing solution and with cleaning cloth or sponge. Rinse the surface carefully. The surfaces must be handled with care for a few weeks after finishing to allow the paint will reach its final hardness. If the surfaces need to be cleansed soon after finishing they must be cleansed lightly with a soft brush or a damp cleaning cloth.
